High-density WiFi with sponsor branding at Idols SA

Idols SA, a large televised live event, needed guest WiFi that could carry a big simultaneous audience, put sponsor branding at the point of connection, and capture attendee details with consent, in a venue that only exists for the run of the shoot.

Challenge

Pop-up events are brutal for WiFi. Attendees arrive together, expect an instant connection, and move in and out of coverage as the show progresses. Sponsors expect their branding to land every time someone connects. The production expects zero drama.

Solution

• Temporary high-density access point deployment, sized for the expected concurrent user count.
• Branded captive portal splash carrying the headline sponsor's creative and a single clear call to action.
• Attendee capture of name, email and opt-in consent, with the list handed to the production at the end of the run.
• Session time limits and bandwidth throttling, so no single user could saturate the backhaul.
• Guest traffic kept off the production's own network, and the whole deployment quoted and run as a project rather than a monthly package.

The result

The audience got online, the sponsor's branding appeared on every connection, and the production walked away with an opt-in list it owns. Event WiFi doing more than plumbing.
