What you get

One platform. One dashboard. Every vehicle.

Hotwireless WiFi in Motion is built for commercial use: passenger WiFi, branded login pages, consent capture, data controls and fleet visibility. It is not a loose MiFi device thrown into a glovebox.

Branded captive portal

Your transport brand, sponsor or route message on every passenger's phone the moment they connect.

Passenger data capture

POPIA-aware opt-in capture of name, email and cell number, so you can contact recent passengers.

Fair-use controls

Per-passenger time and bandwidth limits stop a single heavy user from sinking the in-vehicle connection.

Central dashboard

See every vehicle at once - status, current passengers, data consumption, hotspots needing attention.

Proven on the road

In daily use on inter-campus runs for a flight training academy in the Eastern Cape, where the hotspot has to hold up over hours of driving.

Equipment that suits the vehicle

We supply the unit, already set up, with guidance on the data plan. It can run off a cigarette lighter socket, or your installer can wire it to the vehicle battery for a permanent feed.

Use cases

Passenger WiFi for transport operators.

Whether you call it bus WiFi, vehicle WiFi, fleet WiFi or passenger WiFi, it is the same service. Here is what it looks like in each kind of operation.

Bus WiFi

Long-distance coaches, cross-border buses, school buses and campus shuttles with controlled passenger access.

Tour vehicle WiFi

Tour operators can keep guests connected while using the portal for offers and trip information.

Airport shuttle WiFi

A clean branded connection for transfers between airports, hotels, offices and conference venues.

Mobile clinic WiFi

Connectivity for mobile health, field sales, training units and remote service teams.

What it costs

One vehicle or a whole fleet, priced per vehicle.

WiFi in Motion is R899 per vehicle per month, ex VAT, on top of the package you choose. Fixed monthly fee, no usage-based costs.

It works with all three packages

Every package now runs at a fixed location and on the move. A shuttle can have the plain branded login page, or passenger sign-up, or the full picture of who travels with you and how often, exactly as a venue would.

Mobile data is separate

The data the vehicle uses is bought from a mobile network, not from us. We help you size the plan for the routes you run so you are not guessing.

Equipment is quoted per vehicle

A minibus and a long-distance coach are not the same job. We quote the unit and the fitting per vehicle once we know what you are running.

Commercial fleet checklist

What a proper vehicle WiFi deployment needs.

Cheap mobile hotspots can work for personal travel. Commercial passenger WiFi needs planning, controls and support.

Route and coverage check

Map the main routes, dead zones, stop points and expected passenger loads before choosing the data plan and hardware.

Equipment and vehicle power

We supply the unit already set up for the vehicle. It can run off a cigarette lighter socket, or a qualified installer can wire it to the vehicle battery if you want a permanent power feed.

Passenger login and POPIA consent

The captive portal handles terms, consent, fair-use rules and optional marketing opt-ins.

Reporting and support

Operators need to see which vehicles are online, which ones need attention, and where the data is going. Support runs Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00 SAST.

FAQ

WiFi in Motion questions.

What is WiFi in Motion?

WiFi in Motion is managed passenger WiFi for moving vehicles: buses, shuttles, taxis, tour vehicles and mobile clinics. It is the equipment in the vehicle, the mobile data behind it, the branded login page passengers see, the fair-use limits, and someone keeping an eye on all of it.

Does Hotwireless provide bus WiFi in South Africa?

Yes. Hotwireless provides bus WiFi and managed passenger WiFi for South African transport operators, including long-distance buses, student transport, airport shuttles and tour vehicles.

Is vehicle WiFi just a mobile router?

For a commercial fleet, no. The box in the vehicle is the easy part. Operators also need the power sorted, the data plan managed, limits so one passenger cannot take the whole connection, a branded login page, consent capture, and a view across the fleet.

Can passengers see a branded captive portal?

Yes. Passengers can connect through a branded captive portal with terms, sponsor messages, data capture, voucher rules and bandwidth limits.

Can WiFi in Motion use multiple networks?

Yes. A fleet deployment is designed around the routes you actually run, the mobile coverage along them and how much data you expect to use, including a second network to fall back on where that makes sense.

Which package does a vehicle use?

Any of the three. All three packages now work at a fixed location and on the move, so a shuttle can run the same branded login page, the same guest sign-up and the same reporting as a venue.
